Highlighting Progress: A Recap of Friends of Light St Park's Initial Achievement

Many preliminary activities have been started by the Light St Park Committee. The committee has made requests to Transport Canberra & City Services ( ACT Government) as park custodian and owner.

Appreciation For Completed Work

Light St Park Committee thank Transport Canberra & City Services (ACT Government) for:

  • The repair of the two bench seats that required repair, one near to the playground and the other facing Renaissance 3. Community members are now able to watch their children and grandchildren play or relax looking towards the views of Mt Majura.

  • The removal of safety fencing that was positioned around the exercise equipment area. There has been an uptake in people now using the equipment which is wonderful to see.

  • Removal of large Cyprus branches and rubbish on the corner of Light Street and Evans Street.

We would also like to thank volunteers who have continued to care for the numerous trees on Light St Park, weed along pathways and activity areas, and the regular picking up of rubbish. These changes have resulted in an increase of people using the park.
